Nurse Kathy Andrews

Kathy completed her Honours Bachelor of Science at University of Toronto where she specialized in Biology, English and Psychology.  Her love of health sciences lead her to complete an Honors Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Ryerson University where she continued furthering her education in Psychology.

Kathy began her nursing career at Credit Valley’s acute Mental Health unit where she worked for four years. Her love for paediatrics motivated her to assume a second job at Sick Kids Hospital where she started and continues to work on their Neuroscience and Trauma unit. Due to her extensive background in mental health, Kathy also assumed a position on their inpatient mental health and eating disorder program where she focuses most of her time. She is very invested in the Sick Kids Organization where she holds a seat on the RN council of the hospital. She was also a representative of the Nursing Practice Council for three years where she assisted in many policy developments and reforms. Currently Kathy is working on program development and planning in preparation for Sick Kids becoming a Schedule 1 Facility.

Outside of nursing, Kathy is a Sunday School Teacher, an avid Zumba-er and loves snuggles with her Kitty!
