Neurologist Dr. Lucia Capano

MD, FRCPC

Background

Dr. Capano was born and raised in the GTA and completed an honours bachelor of science in neuroscience at the University of Toronto.   From there, she went on to Queen’s Medical school and obtained her Doctor of Medicine.  At the University of Calgary and Alberta Children’s Hospital, she completed specialty training (residency) in Pediatric Neurology.  Most recently, she completed a clinical research fellowship in Autism Spectrum Disorder at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital in Toronto, where she worked with internationally renowned researchers in the autism field.

Dr. Capano’s research has focused primarily on clinical trials of medication for autism, but has also included abnormal weight gain and obesity in autism.  Dr. Capano is passionate about caring for children with any neurological or developmental condition.
